Some children have sensory issues and that means that lights, sounds, and textures may bother them immensely. Some children don't have these issues that cause a huge problem, but they may be bothered by tags on shirts and other things on clothing that most people learn to put up with and never notice. Some kids simply don't know how to put things on properly, or are not sure that they can just cut the tag out of items. Some kids have a huge problem with the lines in socks, and this is when seamless socks come into play.

A good diabetic sock is slightly more expensive than a standard socks for a couple reasons. First they are almost always seamless which is different than cheaper mass produced socks with sometimes bulk seams near the toes and heels. Seamless socks are a little more challenging to make but the extra effort is worth it because there are no pressure points created by the sock at the seams for diabetics to have to manage or live with.

Your socks should be seam free, because a slight irritation can lead to an ulceration, which in a diabetic can lead to amputation. If a Charcot foot diagnosis accompanies Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, it is important to wear seamless socks and supportive shoes, at all times. Additional ankle and arch supports are also be beneficial.
